Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and [[COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME]] ("we," "us," "our") governing your use of PageToFace, available at page2face.com and pagetoface.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • User / "you" — any person who accesses or uses the Service.
  • Account — your registered identity on PageToFace, created via email or third-party authentication.
  • Generation — a single request that produces one AI-generated portrait image.
  • Trial — the free tier that provides 3 lifetime portrait generations per account.
  • Subscription — a recurring monthly plan that grants a defined number of generations per billing period.
  • Top-up — a one-time purchase of additional generations added to your account.
  • User Content — any text, descriptions, or other material you provide to the Service.
  • Output — any AI-generated image or content produced by the Service in response to your request.

2. Service Description

PageToFace extracts fictional character descriptions from book text you provide and generates photorealistic character portraits using AI image-generation models.

Important limitations:

  • All Outputs are AI-generated interpretations. They may not match your expectations, the author's intent, or any "canonical" depiction.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, uniqueness, or suitability of any Output.
  • AI models may change over time. The style, quality, or behavior of Outputs may vary without notice.
  • The Service is not designed to produce likenesses of real people.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may not share, transfer, or sell access to your account.

4. Plans, Trial, and Generations

4.1 Free Trial

Every new account receives 3 portrait generations at no cost. This is a lifetime allowance — once used, it does not reset. The Trial requires registration but does not require a credit card.

4.2 Subscriptions

We offer the following monthly plans (prices may be updated with notice):

  • Starter — $9.79/month · 100 portrait generations per month
  • Standard — $19.79/month · 250 portrait generations per month
  • Pro — $44.79/month · 600 portrait generations per month

Generations included in a Subscription reset at the start of each billing period. Unused generations do not roll over.

4.3 Top-ups

Subscribers may purchase additional generations as one-time add-ons (for example, +50 generations or +200 generations). Top-up generations do not expire at the end of a billing period but are non-refundable once purchased.

4.4 When Generations Run Out

If you have no remaining generations, you will not be able to create new portraits until your plan renews or you purchase a top-up.

4.5 Successful Generations Only

A generation is consumed only when a portrait image is successfully produced. If a generation fails due to a technical error on our end, we intend not to deduct it. In rare cases, tracking discrepancies may occur — please contact us if you believe a generation was deducted in error.

4.6 Changes to Plans and Pricing

We may modify plan features, generation limits, or prices at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before changes take effect for active subscribers.

5. Billing, Auto-Renewal, and Cancellation

  • All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not directly store your full credit card details.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew each month on your billing date unless you cancel before that date.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. After cancellation, you retain access to your plan's features until the end of the current paid billing period.
  • No partial-month refunds are issued for mid-cycle cancellations.

6. Refunds

Payments are generally non-refundable. Specific exceptions (such as billing errors or duplicate charges) are described in our Refund Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate, request, or distribute illegal content of any kind.
  • Attempt to produce images of real people, celebrities, or actors — including replications of actors from film or TV adaptations of books.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Create content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, or discriminatory.
  • Create sexual content involving minors, or explicit non-consensual content.
  • Infringe on the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent safety filters, moderation, or usage limits.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond its intended interface.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or models used by the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without refund, if we determine (in our sole discretion) that you have violated these rules.

8. AI Output Disclaimer

  • Outputs are generated by third-party AI models and may resemble other images, styles, or depictions.
  • We do not guarantee that any Output is unique, original, non-infringing, or fit for a particular purpose.
  • We do not guarantee that Outputs will accurately represent any character or match your expectations.
  • You are solely responsible for how you use, publish, or distribute any Output.

9. User Content and Rights

You retain ownership of any text or material ("User Content") that you provide to the Service. By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

You represent that you have the right to submit any User Content you provide and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

10. Output Rights

Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use Outputs you generate for personal and commercial purposes. However:

  • We make no warranty that Outputs are free from third-party intellectual property claims.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of any Output complies with applicable laws, including copyright, trademark, and right-of-publicity laws.
  • We do not claim ownership of Outputs generated by your account, but we may use anonymized, aggregated data (including metadata about generation patterns) to improve the Service.

11. DMCA and Copyright Complaints

If you believe that content on PageToFace infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to [[CONTACT_EMAIL]] that includes:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work.
  • Identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location on the Service.
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.

  • Your physical or electronic signature.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers (including Stripe for payments, cloud hosting providers, and AI model providers). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third parties. Your use of such services may be subject to their own terms.

13. Links to Other Websites

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

14. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability. We will try to provide advance notice when possible.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUTPUTS WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE SECURE, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, [[COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME]] AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
